Prince Aly Salomone Khan (13 June 1911 – 12 May 1960), known as Aly Khan, was a socialite and ambassador for Pakistan. He was the son of the Aga Khan III, and the father of Aga Khan IV. 

A socialite, racehorse owner and jockey, he was the third husband of actress Rita Hayworth. After being passed over for succession as Aga Khan, he served as the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations from 1958 to 1960, where he became a vice president of the General Assembly. 

The titles of prince and princess, which are claimed by children of the Aga Khan by virtue of their descent from the Qajar king Fath Ali Shah of the Persian Qajar dynasty, were recognized as courtesy titles by the British government in 1938.

Sir Chaudhry Muhammad Zafarullah Khan KCSI (6 February 1893 – 1 September 1985) was a Pakistani jurist and diplomat who served as the first Foreign Minister of Pakistan. After serving as foreign minister he continued his international career and is the only Pakistani to preside over the International Court of Justice.

He also served as the President of the UN General Assembly. He is the only person to date to serve as the President of both UN General Assembly and the International Court of Justice. Khan became one of the most vocal proponents of Pakistan and led the case for the separate nation in the Radcliffe Commission which drew the countries of modern-day South Asia.

He moved to Karachi in August 1947 and became a member of Pakistan's first cabinet serving as the country's debut foreign minister under the Liaquat administration. He remained Pakistan's top diplomat until 1954 when he left to serve on the International Court of Justice and remained on the court as a judge until 1958 when he became the court's vice president. He left the Hague in 1961 to become the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, a position he served until 1964. 

During his time at the UN, he also represented the State of Palestine in a de facto capacity. He left the UN in 1964 to return to the ICJ and, in 1970, he became the first and only Pakistani to serve as the President of the International Court of Justice, a position he maintained until 1973. 

He returned to Pakistan and retired in Lahore where he died in 1985 at the age of 92. Khan is considered one of the leading founding fathers of Pakistan and a prominent figure in Pakistan.

Syed Amjad Ali CIE OBE (July 1907 – 5 March 1997) was a Pakistani politician and a civil servant during the British Raj era, who served as the 3rd Minister of Finance (Pakistan) from 1956 to 1958 and as Pakistan Ambassador to the United States from 1953 to 1955.

After independence from India and British rule, Ali served as Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States (1953–55), Finance Minister of Pakistan (1955–58), and Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (1964–67).

Agha Shahi (August 1920 – 6 September 2006), was served as Counselor in the Pakistan Embassy in Washington from 1955 to 1958. He was Pakistan's Deputy Permanent Representative to UN from 1958 to 1961 and later served as Permanent Representative to United Nations from 1967 to 1972. 

During his term as permanent representative to United Nations, he played an important role in enabling China to become a member of the United Nations. He became Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1964 and served in that position till 1967.

Iqbal Ahmad Akhund was a Pakistani diplomat and writer who served as the 7th permanent representative of Pakistan to the United Nations and the 5th national security advisor to the 11th prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto for foreign affairs and national security.

A head of the United Nations Centre Against Apartheid, Akhund also served as a Special Representative of the Secretary-General and United Nations Assistant Secretary-General from 1979 to 1987.

Niaz A. Naik (31 May 1926 – 8 August 2009) was a Pakistani diplomat. 

From 1986 to 1990, Naik served as the permanent Representative of Pakistan to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Naik served as the Ambassador of Pakistan to Geneva from 1971 to 1974, New York City from 1978 to 1982 and France. Naik was also part of the UN-sponsored international contact group on Afghanistan.

Sardar Shah Nawaz ( 1917 – 11 January 1991) also known as S. Shahnawaz, was a Pakistani diplomat who served as the 14th foreign secretary of Pakistan from 1977 to 1980 and 9th permanent representative of Pakistan to the United Nations from 1982 to 1989.

He started his career when he joined the civil services of Pakistan in 1950. Prior to his appointment at the UN and foreign ministry, he served as ambassador of Pakistan to Iran from 1968 to 1972. He was later appointed secretary-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1980 to 1982.

Jamsheed Marker (24 November 1922 – 21 June 2018) was a Pakistani diplomat and a former cricket commentator. The recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz, he was associated with diplomatic career for over 42 years. He was notable for his tenure as Ambassador to the United States, serving from 17 September 1986 to 30 June 1989 during the administrations of Prime Ministers Muhammad Khan Junejo and Benazir Bhutto.

He represented Pakistan in Romania, the Soviet Union (1969 – 1972), Canada, East Germany, Japan, the United Nations Office at Geneva, West Germany, France, the United States (1986 – 1989) and finally the United Nations in New York City (1990 – 1994). Marker served as Ambassador of Pakistan continually for thirty years, in ten different capitals, and nine further concurrent accreditations.

Ahmed Kamal (April 1938 – 25 May 2023) was a Pakistani diplomat, most noted for his work at the United Nations. He served as a professional diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan for close to forty years until his retirement in 1999.

Inam-ul-Haq is a Pakistani career diplomat who served as the Foreign Minister of Pakistan in the caretaker government of Muhammad Mian Soomro for four months from November 2007 till March 2008. He also remained Minister of State for Foreign Affairs from June 2002, and Foreign Secretary after he replaced Shamshad Ahmad in February 2000. 

Haq served as Pakistan Ambassador to Turkey, China (1997–1999) and Permanent Representative to the United Nations before being appointed Foreign Secretary.

Shamshad Ahmad is a veteran Pakistani diplomat, international relations expert and an author who served in BPS-22 grade as the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan from 1997 to 2000. He also served as the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations between 2000 till 2002. 

Shamshad Ahmad also was the Pakistan's ambassador to South Korea and Iran.

Mr. Munir Akram assumed his position as Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, on November 1, 2019.

Ambassador Akram previously served as Pakistan's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York for six years between 2002 and 2008, after serving as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva for seven years from 1995 to 2002.

Between 1988-1992, Munir Akram was Pakistan's Ambassador to the European Council, Belgium and Luxemburg.

During his term at the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram served twice as President of the Security Council in May 2003 and in May 2004; President of the Economic and Social Council in 2005; Chairman of the Group of 77 and China (developing countries) in 2007, and Facilitator on UN Administrative Reform in 2006.

Among the positions he held in various intergovernmental organizations were: Member of the UN Secretary General's Advisory Board on Disarmament; Chairman of the WTO Trade Policy Review Body; President of the Conference on Disarmament (June 1996).

Ambassador Akram joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1967, holding various positions in the Foreign Ministry as Additional Foreign Secretary and Director-General dealing with the United Nations.

He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Karachi. He is a prolific writer and has lectured and published several articles and papers on various strategic, political and economic issues.

In recognition of his selfless service and outstanding performance in the field of diplomacy and foreign policy, he was conferred the Award of Hilal-i-Quaid-e-Azam by the President of Pakistan.

Masood Khan is a Pakistani-Kashmiri diplomat who is currently serving as Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States. Khan also served as the 27th President of Azad Kashmir. Khan joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1980. From August 2003 to March 2005, he served as the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and International Organisations in Geneva, Switzerland, from 2005 to 2008, Pakistan's Ambassador to China between September 2008 and September 2012 and as Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York, between October 11, 2012 and February 7, 2015.

Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1993. In a diplomatic career spanning three decades, Asim has made his mark working across regions from Europe and Africa to Asia and the United Nations at various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan's Missions abroad.

From November 2022 to December 2024, he was Pakistan’s Ambassador to France and Monaco, and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO.

Before assuming post in Paris, Ambassador Ahmad held key assignment as the Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson from August 2021 to November 2022. Simultaneously during that period he headed first the Asia Pacific Division and then the United Nations & Economic Diplomacy Division as Additional Foreign Secretary.

Previously, he served as Pakistan's Ambassador to Thailand from 2017 to 2021. His first diplomatic assignment was in Niamey, Niger (1997-2000). At the Foreign Ministry he has also carried out responsibilities in the Personnel, Europe and Africa Divisions.

Mr. Ahmad has distinguished himself in particular in multilateral diplomacy, from leadership positions at the Ministry, to important roles and assignments at the United Nations in New York and Geneva, besides being the country's Permanent Representative to UNESCAP (Bangkok) and UNESCO (Paris) where he was also the Vice Chair (Asia Pacific Group) in the Executive Board and Vice Chair of the General Conference.

He has represented Pakistan in major Summits and Conferences including the African Union, OIC, NAM, ASEAN and ASEM as well as UN General Assembly's Annual Sessions from 2003-2008, 2011-2016&2022.HealsoservedastheDeputyChefdeCabinetofthePresidentoftheUNGeneral Assembly from 2009-2010.

Asim was a key member of Pakistan Team at the Security Council twice, in 2003-2004, and again in 2012-2013whenhewasalsoPakistan'sPoliticalCoordinatorintheCouncil.HerepresentedPakistan in the Mission of the Security Council to West Africa (June-July 2003), Mission of the Security Council Sanctions Committee concerning Somalia (November 2003), Extraordinary Meeting of the Security Council held in Nairobi on Sudan and Somalia (November 2004), and the Security Council Mission to the Great Lakes Region in October 2013. He has been member of Pakistan delegation to the UN Peace building Commission. He has represented Pakistan at the UN Human Rights Council, and the review of Pakistan's reports to the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), and the Committee Against Torture (CAT).

Heading the UN Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he oversaw wide range of areas from peace and security to development, climate change and human rights at Pakistan's Missions in New York, Geneva, Rome, Vienna, Paris and Nairobi, besides the work of the UN system in Pakistan. His prior experience in New York (2003-9 & 2012-14) included responsibilities for political, peace and security and reform issues, acting as the focal point for the Security Council, reform of the Security Council, political issues in the General Assembly, Special Political and Decolonization (4th) Committee, conflict prevention, peacekeeping and peace-building.

Asim is a graduate of the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore (1991, Electrical Engineering, Gold Medal), and the University of the Punjab, Lahore (1988, Bachelor of Arts, Gold Medal).

Born on 27 November 1966 in Lahore, Asim is married to Asma, and they have three daughters. He speaks French, and plays golf, tennis, snooker and cricket.
