Its objectives are synergistic with the objectives of the United Nations. The D-8 would like to write in sync with the United Nations.

Mr. President,

The observer status of the D-8 will help the organization in furthering its objectives as well as developing synergies with the United Nations socio-economic and sustainable development objectives and its link with the United Nations will yield mutual benefits for the two organizations.

In the current year, we would like to focus especially on the post-2015 development agenda. The D-8 looks forward to working with the United Nations.

Thank you.
